15+ Halloween Costume Ideas for Couples

With Halloween quickly approaching, you might be wondering on what costume you want to do with your significant other. Nailing down an idea is the easy part, but it’s not always that easy to find clothing and accessories to create the costume. I’m going to give you plenty of ideas for Halloween while giving you places to find what you might be missing!

Hunter & Deer

While this costume is relatively easy, it could be a little harder to find some of the items! The main pieces you’ll want to focus on to really sell this costume are the orange vest, camo pants, and a headband with antlers. Some face paint for your man and some white spots for you should really do the trick!

Shaggy & Scooby Doo

This could be one of the easiest costumes on this list! You can opt to make a set of dog ears and a collar with materials you can find at home, or you can find them in a set on Amazon! You can make a box of “Scooby Snax” out of an old cereal box. Put your man in a green shirt and khakis and you’ll be all set to take that Mystery Machine for a spin!

Darla & Alfalfa from "Little Rascals"

If you grew up in the 90s, you know this costume is going to be so nostalgic! Darla and Alfalfa can be pretty easy to recreate because the items to create the costumes are pretty easy to find. When it comes to Darla, a overall dress, white polo shirt, and lace lined socks should do the trick! For Alfalfa, a bow tie and suspenders, a button down, and khakis should get you the overall look. Top off your look with an umbrella and gel that section of hair straight up and you’ve easily aced this costume!

Troy & Gabriella from Disney's "High School Musical"

Everyone has a little soft spot for this favorite Disney couple. Troy and Gabriella can be an easy costume for couples that takes very minimal steps to accomplishing the look (or it can even be done within a shorter amount of time)! To accomplish Gabriella, find a red skater dress and a nice pair of shoes. If you wanted to add to this, find a lab coat! It will tie in the portion of the movie where she is competing in the decathlon! To turn your man into Troy Bolton, have him wear a red baseball tee, a pair of jeans, black high tops, and to add a little something extra, have him carry around a basketball! You’ll be soaring and flying in no time!

Maui & Moana

Want more of a tropical vibe for your Halloween festivities? Try recreating Maui and Moana! These costumes would definitely have to be found online rather than creating them yourself, but it is still possible if you’re feeling crafty!

Forrest & Jenny

For those of you that “go together like peas and carrots,” this may be the costume for you! Forrest and Jenny can be one of the most iconic characters to recreate, but finding the right materials can sometimes be hard. To make sure you really execute the costume to its full potential, find a flower crown, suede vest, and bohemian dress to create Jenny, and find a blue plaid shirt, khakis, red ball cap and running shoes to create Forrest!

Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy

Is there evil afoot? Consider getting in your invisible boatmobile as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy! There are quite a few items that you’ll need for this costume to really pull it off, but luckily, you can find them all pretty cheap. For Mermaid Man, you’ll need green gloves, green tights, black shorts, an orange shirt, some purple seashells and some purple face paint to create the starfish across your nose. For Barnacle Boy, you’ll need some black shorts, black gloves, a red t-shirt, a blue cape, and a sailor’s hat. Pretty soon, you’ll look like you’re saving Bikini Bottom from evil!

Sandy & Danny from "Grease"

You better shape up for this costume! Sandy and Danny are easily one of the most iconic couples of all time, but nailing this look could prove to be challenging. To perfect Sandy’s look, find a black off-the-shoulder top, leather pants, and a pair of black heels or booties. Curl your hair fairly tight and put on some red lipstick to make it pop! For Danny, find your man a black pair of pants, a black t-shirt, and a black belt. Your costume will be electrifying!

Peter Pan & The Shadow

This puts a different twist on the classic Peter Pan costume. Instead of having a Tinker Bell to create the pair, try opting for Peter Pan’s shadow instead! It should be fairly easy to find a full Peter Pan costume online, but the shadow might give you some troubles. I’ve found the shadow costume on Amazon, and complete with a black morph suit, you’ll be looking like the shadow in no time!

Chip and Joanna Gaines

Chip and Joanna Gaines have easily snuck their way into America’s hearts. This costume could generally be easy to put together. A lot of the time on “Fixer Upper,” you’ll see both Chip and Joanna in casual button down shirts and jeans. This particular couple opted to both wear button down shirts, jeans, and a belt. To make Chip seem more like Chip, they added a tool belt, a vest, a curly/wavy wig, and a white hat to channel Chip’s famous Magnolia Farms hat. You can also print out two slides to make it seem like the screens they pull apart to show families their homes on the show! You’ll be ready to show families their “fixer upper” in no time!

Mary Jane & Spiderman

This is easily one of my personal favorites. I grew up watching Spiderman all the time and have easily considered Mary Jane and Peter Parker/Spiderman an iconic couple. To channel Mary Jane, you’ll 100% have to have red hair, either natural or through a wig. Business attire such as a dressy sweater, skirt and dress coat paired with some heels would work great! For Spiderman, it would be easiest to find a Spiderman morph suit on Amazon to get the right fit and style. Soon you’ll be shooting webs across New York City!

Kim & Ron from "Kim Possible"

Want to figure out the sitch? Show up to a Halloween party as Kim and Ron from “Kim Possible”! For both characters, you’ll need a black long sleeved shirt and khaki cargo pants. Kim has a bulkier belt and a cropped shirt to really make her outfit distinct. Complete Kim’s look with a pair of black gloves and either a red wig or spray in temporary hair color. For Ron, all you’ll need to complete his look is a blonde wig (and maybe a stuffed version of Rufus to go along with the outfit). Make sure everyone knows to call you and beep you if they want to reach you!

Peter Pan & Tinker Bell

Peter Pan and Tinker Bell are another iconic duo! As I told earlier, the Peter Pan costume can be as simple as finding one on Amazon, and Tinker Bell can be just that easy as well. You can get everything you need to become Tinker Bell on Amazon–even as specific as the hair! If you really wanted to add a little something extra, get a bottle of body glitter spray. It will really help you achieve that “mystical fairy” look you’re going for and make it seem like you came straight from Neverland!

Milk Man & Cookie

In a classic spin on everyone’s favorite duo, this couple decided to dress as a chocolate chip cookie and a milk man! The cookie can be fairly simple to put together. You can either find a cookie costume on Amazon, or you can DIY an oversized tan shirt with brown puff paint, and pair it with black leggings! For the milk man costume, you could have your man dress in a short-sleeved white button down, white dress pants, a black bowtie with a black belt and find a milk man’s hat on Amazon! They’re both very simple to put together and will still have everyone wondering how you did it!

Dalmatian & Firefighter

You didn’t think this could be a Halloween costume post without a firefighter did you? A firefighter costume has always been one of those costumes that comes back year after year, but it’s such a classic that deserves that repetition! Putting the firefighter costume together can be as easy as pairing a plain black or grey t-shirt with a pair of jeans, red suspenders, and a firefighter’s helmet (which you can find on Amazon). You could even find a full firefighters costume on Amazon if you wanted to! For the Dalmatian, use a similar method that you used for the cookie! You can use round sponge brushes to create spots on your oversized white t-shirt. Just add a pair of black tights and black dog ears, and you’ll be set!

Popeye & Olive Oyl

What about Popeye and Olive Oyl? These costumes can actually be very simple to make, and very few things would have to be bought! For Popeye, start with a black t-shirt or polo and jeans.  Add three medium-sized yellow buttons to the shirt, find a yellow belt and pipe on Amazon, and finish off the look with a pair of brown boots and (of course) a can of spinach! Olive Oyl requires a bit more DIY aspects, but can turn out create! Start with a red t-shirt and attach some white fabric that had been cute into scallops! Find a black pencil skirt and add yellow trim to the bottom. Finish off the look with a pair of white ankle socks and brown booties!

Loofah & Bar of Soap

Last (but certainly not least) we have a loofah and a bar of soap! This isn’t a costume that you see very often, but can be pretty simple to put together. You can actually find a set on Amazon! This is a very pain-free way to celebrate Halloween with your significant other and bring an iconic pair to life!
